Supertuxkart saccadé. Ma fille me déteste

Bonjour,

Premier message sur ce forum mais pas premier passage. Je suis en effet sous Linux depuis la fin de Lenny, et le peu que je sais, je l’ai appris en majorité sur ce forum, grâce à ceux qui ont posté leurs problèmes et à ceux qui ont pris le temps de les aider. Donc merci pour ces deux dernières années !!!

Je me suis finalement inscrit car je ne trouve pas de réponse à mon petit problème. En résumé, après l’installation de Squeeze à la place de Lenny, Supertuxkart ne marche plus : le son est saccadé et les images changent quand elles le veulent, une par seconde, et encore. Alors que ça marchait sous Lenny. Sans doute la chance du débutant …

Mais du coup, ma fille de 6 ans me met la pression.

tuas semble t il une carte graphique ATI . 75 FPS, c’est effectivement très peu.
Pourquoi créer un xorg.conf ? Ton matériel n’est pas bien détecté par udev ?
Si ton modéle de carte graphique est récent et supporté, installe les drivers propios ATI, sinon utilise le driver radeonhd qui fait de la 3D.
Avec le radeon, tu auras toujours du mal avec les jeux.

Le driver radeonhd n’a pas été simplement remplacé par radeon? En tout cas plus de mises à jour pour le hd…

Le pilote radeon est encore limité. Installes les paquets fglrx-driver fglrx-control fglrx-modiles-dkms et leurs dépendances. Le pilote va se constuire tout seul. (dépot non-free)
Ensuite, utilises un xorg.conf du type :

Tu as une très vieille carte ATI. Le pilote proprio fglrx ne pourra rien pour toi. Il ne supporte plus ta carte.
Oublie le pilote radeonhd, lui aussi il ne fera rien pour toi.
Le pilote libre radeon, logiquement installé par défaut, est la solution à ton problème. Sauf que, il te faut installer les microcodes proprios qui, depuis squeeze, ont été exclus du noyau pour le libérer.

Installe donc le paquet firmware-linux-nonfree des dépôts non-free, redémarre X sans xorg.conf, et ça devrait le faire.

Effectivement ma carte graphique (et mon PC en général) est âgée, environ 8 ans je crois.
Mais jusqu’à présent ça le faisait, même avec SuperTuxkart ou Tuxracer.
Mais ce qui marchait avant ne marche plus.

Pour piratebab : j’ai créée le xorg.conf pour mettre la section DRI car je l’avais dans l’ancienne version sous Lenny (c’est la seule chose dont je me souvienne de cette précédente version).

Pour talogue : En fait, avant de créer xorg.conf, j’avais installé le paquet firmware-linux-nonfree comme tu le conseilles. Mais pas de changement après le redémarrage.
Comment vérifier que ce paquet est bien pris en compte ?

A vouloir tenter différentes choses avant de poster, j’ai peut-être installé trop de trucs. Il faudrait peut-être faire un peu de nettoyage. Mais je ne sais pas trop dans quel ordre faire les chose.

Sinon, pourquoi j’ai deux infos contraires sur le Direct Rendering ? Le log de Xorg est-il généré avant l’activation du Direct Rendering ?

Avec 73 FPS, je doute que le direct rendering soit actif …
Si tu confirmes que tu as une radeon900 (RV250), c’est pas gagné.
Essaie le script sgfxi avec l’option -n
smxi.org/docs/sgfxi-manual.htm
Il t’installera le meilleur driver possible, et mettra à jour ton xorg.conf tout seul

Avant d’installer sgfxi, pour être sûr, j’ai fait un

pour vérifier que j’avais bien installé ce paquet.
Résultat : le paquet n’était pas installé (du coup, je me demande ce que j’ai installé la dernière fois ???)

Et pour devenir une idole, installe lui la dernière version (0.72).
Vraiment beaucoup mieux que celle des dépôts de Squeeze (0.6)…

A part apt-get update upgrade install, je ne connais pas grand chose (jamais compilé ou installé des trucs hors stable ou même pris le temps de regarder en détail comment faire).

Ma fille devra attendre la prochaine debian stable.

Regarde pour piocher dans la branche testing ou unstable avec un fichier préférences correct ( dans la rubriques trucs & astuces de ce forum il y a un fil de discussion sur le sources.list au carré ).

Télécharge ce fichier pour 32bits :

Execute le fichier run_game.sh

Si tu veux l’installer plus proprement :

Je ne sais pas pourquoi ça ne fonctionne pas sans ce changement, car quand tu le lance directement de gnome, c’est OK !

Puis pour l’ajouter dans ton menu : clique droit sur le menu gnome => Editer les menu, puis ajoute une entrée qui execute supertuxkart-0.7
Remarque, tu peux aussi ajouter une entrée dans tes menu pointant vers l’executable présent dans ton profil.

Je vais étudier ça en détails dès que possible (mais je ne suis pas sûr de vouloir prendre le risque juste pour un jeu, alors que ma configuration marche bien maintenant et que ma fille ne sait pas qu’il y a une version 0.72).
