Problème son Dell xps 14 (9440) / SID

Je suis nouveau sur ce forum…

Je viens d’acquérir une machine Dell xps 14 9440. J’ai installé Debian sid sans problème. Mais je n’arrive pas à faire fonctionner le son, je n’ai qu’une « dumy output » dans les paramètres et aucune entrée :

J’ai de mauvais souvenirs avec Dell, non pas que ce ne soient pas de bons produits mais que leurs architectures sont conçues et développées avant tout pour les produits M$.

Je vous invite à essayer avec Ubuntu (Distribution reposant sur Debian) qui est mieux pris en charge par Dell pour tenter de faire la part des choses, avant de revenir sur Debian.

As-tu bien installé les drivers « non-free » ? quel est le contenu de ton /etc/apt/sources.list ?
Il te faut « non-free-firmware » sur chaque ligne. Exemple :

deb http://deb.debian.org/debian/ trixie main non-free-firmware contrib

dook123 propose une solution : tu peux passer l’histoire de mainline pour changer de kernel puisque tu es déjà en 6.10, et suivre la manip pour les sof-bin (latest binaries of FW, tool and topology for all Intel released platforms) et la suite.

Réponse générique.

Pour identifier l’éventuel pilote potentiel ou utilisé :

lspci -ks 00:1f.3

« Kernel driver in use » liste le pilote utilisé
« Kernel modules » liste les modules des pilotes potentiels
Si les deux lignes sont vides, il n’y a pas de pilote. Si seule la première ligne est vide, alors le pilote ne fonctionne pas. Souvent parce qu’il manque un firmware non libre. Chercher les messages dans la sortie de dmesg.

Donc j’ai bien mis non-free-firmware ! J’ai déjà essayé la solution de dook123 sur ubuntu mais sans succès, je viens de réessayer, je reboot et je vous dit !

Alors je viens de l’installer, mais j’avoue que je ne vois pas trop ce que ça change… En tout cas je n’ai toujours pas de sortie audio !!

C’est bête de ne pas pouvoir faire de diff sur les dmesg …

Au minimum le message d’erreur concernant le firmware manquant ne devrait plus se produire.

Si c’est trop gros, tu peux utiliser https://pastebin.com/.

Par exemple , tu fais un

et tu copies le contenu du fichier sur pastebin, comme ça on aura tout.

On a déjà vu sur ce forum des problèmes de son traîner pendant plus d’un mois, bricolés approximativement de doc en doc, de forum en forum, sans atteindre un état stable, même pour du Debian ‹ stable ›.
Avant de compliquer la situation et de modifier un peu tout sans traçabilité, je propose de commencer par faire une photo de l’état du système.

Important:
→ S’agit-il d’une SID installée ‹ neuve ›, ou d’une mise à jour de versions Debian successives ?

Dans un premier temps, si pas déjà installés, peux-tu installer les firmwares suivant du dépôt ‹ non-free-firmware ›:
firmware-intel-sound firmware-sof-signed

et rebooter, pour voir. Si pas de changement, retour de:

dpkg -l |awk '$2~"pipew|pulse|alsa|wirep|intel|-sof" && $1~/^i/ {print $1,$2}'

et

!! Il y a quelques points délicats, et non intuitifs.
